As the IT industry is regaining confidence after a huge amount of staff cuts during the GFC, hiring activity is rapidly ramping up. This is not just to fill positions that were cut but also to fill new positions due to increasing demand for it services and products.

In IQPC’s Survey with over 60 IT companies Head’s of Recruitment they found that Australian IT Companies:

  • see a shift in the marketplace and are ramping up hiring activity   
  • hire between 140 - 350 candidates per year
  • hired between 60 - 90 candidates in the last quarter alone!
  • see an industry turnover average of 22-28% 
  • 30-50% of all hires are through internal referrals
  • on average only hire about 1 in 100 applicants 
  • have anywhere between 5 - 30 preferred suppliers at any given time
