The Best 10 Jobs
A recent survey conducted in the US by Money magazine and Salary.com, ranks the position of human resource manager as the fourth-best job. The profession rates well in flexibility, overall compensation, opportunity for growth, and level of stress, according to the survey. The survey also identifies the trend toward outsourcing tactical, administrative responsibilities and freeing HR to concentrate on its role as strategic planner.
For their ranking of America's best jobs, Money and Salary.com looked at hundreds of jobs and graded them based on stress levels, average pay, growth, flexibility, room for creativity, and other factors.
Software engineer, college professor, and financial adviser claimed the top three spots in the ranking. HR manager took the spot of fourth best job in America. The job of HR manager received high grades for flexibility and ease of entry. Money also noted that the job of HR manager is increasing in importance as HR becomes a strategic planner for companies.
Of the occupations making the list's top ten jobs, HR manager had the fourth lowest average annual pay at US $73,500. Financial adviser had the highest average annual pay at US $122,500.

- Physician assistant
- Market research analyst
- Computer IT analyst
- Real estate appraiser
- Pharmacist
- Psychologist
